Wu Zeke said that this military parade focuses on interpreting the theme of the victory of the Anti Japanese War, emphasizing the integration of anti Japanese and historical elements into the design, mainly reflected in three aspects: the first is to inherit the bloodline of the Anti Japanese War. The reference troops are mostly drawn from units with blood ties to the Anti Japanese War, covering the main forces of the Anti Japanese War such as the Eighth Route Army, the New Fourth Army, the Northeast Anti Japanese United Front, and the South China Guerrilla Force, fully reflecting the arduous and remarkable anti Japanese war process of the People's Army and the historical inheritance of the red gene. The second is to advocate for meritorious service and honor. The selection of our army's meritorious and honorary flags during the Anti Japanese War reflects the great victories and immortal achievements of the People's Army in the war, expresses deep remembrance of revolutionary martyrs, always remembers the meritorious and honorary troops, and continues to inherit the fine traditional style. The third one is to revisit historical classics. In this parade, we formed a joint military band to play some well-known classic anti Japanese songs and specially designed special signs for the parade, so that the people throughout the country can review the history of the war, feel the spirit of the war, and encourage the people's army to defend the dignity of the country and the nation to the death.

This year marks the 35th anniversary of the Chinese military's participation in United Nations peacekeeping operations. Wu Zeke stated that this year's military parade will include troops who have carried out peacekeeping missions for reference. The militia is an integral part of China's armed forces and an assistant and reserve force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. This military parade will arrange for militia units to participate, which is the first time that the militia has participated in a parade event with the theme of commemorating the Anti Japanese War.

Wu Zeke stated that, taking into account factors such as physical condition, this military parade will no longer organize anti Japanese veteran teams for reference. Instead, it will arrange for veteran soldiers, comrades, militia members, model representatives of local branches, and representatives of relatives of anti Japanese martyrs who have participated in the war to attend the ceremony at Tiananmen Square to express their high respect for the old heroes. This military parade will invite Kuomintang anti Japanese veterans, as well as international friends or their family representatives who have contributed to the victory of China's anti Japanese war, to attend the ceremony on site.
